The Ultimate Skier Gifts 2012

Do you have a special skier in your life? Maybe you just want to spoil a "regular" friend with a beautiful gift... Either way, here are a couple of options that are sure to please the skier in your life!

Canon 6D

Canon’s newest full frame digital camera option. Though not made for sports photography, I see this being a great camera for heli-skiers around the world. Being the smallest full frame camera ever made, you won’t notice it as much in a backpack.  With built in GPS, you will be able to snap a bunch of pictures, and map out where your day was spent.

GoPro completely revamped their entire camera line. With three levels of the GoPro hero3, there is one for everyone. Gopros are VERY user friendly, but also have a huge variety of options if you really want to get technical. From casual video takers, to serious film makers, everyone can find a use for one of these tiny action cameras!

This is my go to jacket 80% of the time. Light weight, compressible, and unbelievably warm. This is the best layering piece to go under a shell on the ski hill, or just to wear casually around town. Rumor has it that most CMH Guides sleep in theirs…

The number 1 most important thing when skiing is vision. Not the kind of vision Hans Gmoser had when he started this whole heli-skiing thing (though that vision was DAMN important!), but more the vision of being able to see where the heck you are going!

CMH Christmas Trip

This has always, and will always be, on my Christmas list. I can’t think of anything better to wake up to on Christmas morning than 40 centimetres of fresh and a helicopter ready to go. Fresh breakfast, and you are off. I would even be so bold to say that I would trade all of my Christmas presents ever for this! Judging by the conditions right now, those who are lucky enough to be doing it this year, are in for a REAL treat!
