CMH Presents "Going Wild with Brian Keating" in Calgary, AB

Brian Keating king penguinsCMH Summer Adventures is pleased to host a rare public presentation of Going Wild with Brian Keating, a family-friendly journey into some of the planet's best wilderness locations.  This all-ages event takes place in the Feature Gallery at TELUS Spark, the New Science Centre on Sunday, March 18, 2012, from 2:30 – 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 per adult and $10 for those 18 and under and are available online at

Brian's multi-media presentation includes a journey around the world – through deserts and polar-regions, mountain summits and tropical forests, and finally returns to the Canadian Tundra and our own majestic mountains. Entertaining and enlightening, Brian's story reconfirms the value of our collective understanding of the overwhelming importance of wild species and wild places.

Honourary Conservation Advisor at the Calgary Zoo and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Calgary, Brian Keating has been leading groups on nature-based expeditions for three decades, exploring some of the best wildlife areas on the planet. Each week he is a popular guest speaker on CBC Radio's The Homestretch in both Calgary and Edmonton. Brian's rousing style would best be described as buoyant, fast-paced, humorous and always uplifting and meaningful. He's a pilot, a naturalist, scuba diver, and mountaineer. Together with his equally adventurous wife Dee, Brian has explored nearly 50 countries on all seven continents in the last quarter century.

The money raised from this event will go directly to support the Conservation Outreach Program at the Calgary Zoo. Admission to TELUS Spark is not required to gain access to the Feature Gallery, but with your ticket for GOING WILD you can gain discounted admission to the Science Centre before the presentation. In addition, all adult attendees will be entered into a draw to win two spaces on a CMH Family Adventure with Brian Keating, taking place August 8 – 11, 2012, at the CMH Bobbie Burns Lodge. This trip is valued at $2,565 per person for adults and $1,925 for children 14 and under.
